Spring Look + Happy 1st Birthday Giveaway!!

Well what do we have here? It's Luna Lacey's first birthday!! This little blog has brought me so much joy and happiness, and I have all of my amazing readers to thank for that! So thank you for stopping by or sticking around throughout this year, it's meant the world to me and I couldn't be more grateful for this experience.

Right let's get past the mushy crap and start with the fun stuff :)

If you haven't heard the massive hype around L.A Girl cosmetics epic lipsticks, awesome concealers, breathe taking eyeshadows and face changing contour bricks, let me enlighten you shall I? Earlier this year L.A Girl's South African branch brought their coveted eyeshadow bricks to our shores, for a limited time, causing complete and utter chaos. Word on the street is that the L.A Girl Nudes Eyeshadow Brick is a dupe for Urban Decays Naked 3 Palette at a fraction of the cost. So as limited addition items do, they sold fast, ridiculously fast. Months passed and all of a sudden they were readily available again...and to top it off, they were part of a 3-for-2 special at Dischem. I mentioned to B that they were back and off he insisted we trot to the nearest Dischem and purchase 1 for myself and 1 for you guys. I also saw their countering bricks and thought "Hey self, why not add one of those as well"...so I picked up three :)

I could spend the rest of this post telling you about the products or showing you how pretty they are, or I could show you how I like to use them! Which is obviously what I did or I wouldn't have stated that last part! Let's get into it shall we?

There you have my bare face for all to see. In the second image I have primed my face and  I am doing a little correction, using a red/salmon colour under my eyes to combat my dark circles. I'm using a green concealer to tone down the redness of my breakout. I will then apply my foundation using a foundation brush. Once my foundation is on, I will dab some concealed the same colour as my foundation onto any blemishes that haven't been covered properly and then a lighter concealer under my eyes to make me look more awake. I will blend that with my knock off beauty blender from Dischem that cost me R 20 :)

The Base-ics

❤︎ Benefit Cosmetics - The POREfessional
❤︎ Catrice Cosmetics - All Round Concealer (for colour correction)
❤︎ Rimmel London - Match Perfection in 100 Ivory
❤︎ L.A Girl Pro Conceal - Creamy Beige (for blemishes)
❤︎ L.A Girl Pro Conceal - Natural (under eye)

I didn't take a picture of my contouring, but I used my L.A Girl Blush Collection in Pinky, below are the shades I used

For my eyes I used the L.A Girl Nudes Palette. The shades in the Nudes palette don't have names, so below is an image that i've numbered so you can see what goes where

For this look I tried to steer away from the shimmery shadows as I wanted it to be a more day time wearable look.

The Eyes

❤︎ Shade 2 all over the lid, avoiding the inner corner.
❤︎ Shade 4 in my crease and a slight bit on the outer V of my eye.
❤︎ Shade 1 in my inner corner, make sure to make a V when doing this to brighten your eyes.
❤︎ Shade 3 & 5 on the outer corners to add just a slight shimmer.

❤︎ Essence Cosmetics - Brow Wow

❤︎ Essence Cosmetics - Lash Princess False Lash Effect

The Lips

❤︎ L.A Girl Matte Finish Pigment - Dreamy

❤︎ Avon Setting Spray
